I've had the distinct pleasure to be Mark Whitfield's guitar maker since his first order in 1999. Mark and myself have now collaborated on 5 guitars together, each with its own voice and purpose. His primary guitar is his 16" Archtop that has accompanied him around the world and on session recordings since the beginning of 2000. This was followed by the sexy emerald green maple Neck-Through, stunning transparent black Electric and the sultry blue/black maple Neck-Through.
Most recently I built for Mark a uniquely constructed and voiced 17" Modern Model. This is a tremendous instrument that will change perceptions of what a single guitar can do acoustically as well as electrically. Mark's guitar is voiced to deliver immediately to the audience or the microphone, while having in reserve a tremendously powerful and warm electric sound to support Mark at any level he chooses.
If you would like to explore these instruments in depth please catch Mark playing live or go to http://www.markwhitfield.com to purchase any of Mark's more recent CD's.
